Many people are anxious about what will happen next. The threat of disaster is so overwhelming that the light at the end of the tunnel is moving further and further away and for some the light is gone.
As people with a relationship with the Most High we constantly find ourselves in the juxtaposition of surrendering our fear to our Father and worrying about the realities of life.
The one thing I know is that God isn’t someone who can’t backup His word. When he said He would provide He did.
We see this in the way He constantly provided for the Israelites. Although they were often ungrateful for the way He provided and that is what we are often privy to.
God’s provision might look different than what we thought, but trust Him enough to know that He has unequivocal wisdom and will never forsake us.
A big focus for us should be to desire God, in glorious intimacy, more than anything else. The wonderful thing about changing your outlook from material to spiritual is that He promises to provide when we do. The scripture reminds us of this.
Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
A big focus for us should be to desire God, in glorious intimacy, more than anything else.
Now, let me not lie, this is hard. We’ve spent many years in complete surrender and it hasn’t always been easy. We’ve argued with the Lord and we’ve asked ‘why’ and ‘when’ so many times, but because faith is so rewarding, we keep surrendering. Even through all the difficult times, and maybe one day ill share them all, God has come through. We are in good hands and because this is the absolute truth we should rather spend our time drawing deeper into His perfect presence, rather than depleting our energy fearing the future.
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one [cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not[c]arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
